Openings for New Members and Visiting Writers

Writers near and far: Kingston Writers’ Studio has openings now for a few more local writers who might want to become members.

There’s also availability for visiting writers who’d like to take retreats in town at local airbnbs or hotels, and use the space while here.  (Here’s a really nice airbnb that some visiting writers have loved, which is walking distance to the studio:

We’re also looking for writers who’d like to who offer workshops in our workshop room. (The instructor makes just about all the tuition, minus $20/hour rental or $15/hour for members.)

So far Melissa Febos, Chloe Caldwell, Ben Obler and KWS owner Sari Botton have offered workshops in that room. In the fall, D. Foy will offer one, and Chloe will be back for a second.

About the space:

Kingston Writers’ Studio is upstairs in The Opera House office building in the heart of Uptown Kingston, also known as the Stockade District.

The studio has two co-working rooms with 10 desks and 2 couches, and a third workshop room with 1 desk and a farm table with seating for 8.

About the location:

Kingston’s Stockade District is a walkable sort of mini-city. You can get around here without a car — take a Trailways bus here from Port Authority Terminal in NYC, and walk from the station to the studio and many airbnbs, plus many great restaurants and shops.

And if you do come by car, you’ll be a short drive from great hiking, biking, climbing, skiing, dining and shopping in Woodstock, the Catskills, Rhinebeck, Hudson, and other nearby towns.

We keep membership/visiting very affordable:
$100/month for unlimited access (you can come any time, 24/7);
$50 for four visits/month;
$15/day or $75/full week for visiting writers.
(There is an application process for membership.)
Please drop a line to kingstonwritersstudio@gmail. if you’re interested in visiting — we’d be happy to offer a complimentary day at the studio. Also please let us know if you might be interested in teaching.
And feel free to share this with writers you know who either live in the area, or might like to visit.
